Cutoffs 2011

Methodology

Unfortunately getting cutoffs for all courses in all IITs is not as simple as it sounds. This is because not all institutes announce their cutoffs. Some of them only display a list of shortlisted candidates on their website while some only send emails to the selected candidates. As such getting cutoffs for these institutes is not easy and one has to follow discussion forums or get in touch with candidates to know the cutoffs.

• Website opens on 16-03-2012
• Website closes on 02-04-2012
• Application Fee: Rs. 100 for SC/ST/PD Candidates and Rs. 200 for others.
• The application fee should be paid by a crossed Demand Draft drawn on any nationalized bank in favour of "The Registrar, IIT Madras" payable at Chennai.

Central counseling by NIT CCMT 2012

National institute of technology(s) are conducting the central counselling this year CCMT 2012.

MNIT Jaipur shall be conducting centralized admission to postgraduate programs in all NITs.
The centralized Counselling for M. Tech. Admissions (CCMT 2012) for candidates possessing GATE score (2011 or 2012), to all the National Institutes of Technology (NITs) will be conducted starting month of April 2012.

IIT Kharagpur Notification

IIT Kharagpur invites applications for the Joint Masters and PhD programme in Engineering and City Planning for the admission year 2012-2013. This progrmamme encourages bright and motivated student to enroll themselves for PhD after completion of first year of MTech/MCP programme.
Under this programme, at the end of first year, interested students having CGPA 8.0 and above are eligible to appear for written test and/or interview to judge their suitability to enroll for PhD. 
Selection
Selection is based on performance in GATE and Personal Interview of short-listed candidates. Marks obtained in GATE and in personal interview will have 70% and 30% weightage respectively. Personal interview will be held to test the following: (a) Motivation and aptitude for the programme (b) Oral communication skills (c) Skills in basic science, engineering, and relevant areas.
